Left in the heat and in the dust, victim of time passing by, broadcasting archives are slowly but surely being left to decay in the buildings of African radios and TV networks. Documents from the 1950s have already been lost. The knock out is near.

Guinea: Crimes against humanity

The international commission of inquiry established by Mr Ban Ki-moon, the UN Secretary General to invest the massacres committed on September 28, 2009 in Conakry, the capital of Guinea, during the violent repression by the army in a political demonstration has submitted its results; and although the report has not been officially released, the media has already been able to review its main conclusions.

DRC: LRA Christmas plans cause panic in northeast

Some residents in the Niangara region of Haut-Uélé District, in north-eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), have started to flee their homes after recent Ugandan rebel Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) threats. The threats are reminiscent of the 2008 Christmas period when the rebels killed hundreds of civilians in the area and surrounding regions.
