Nestle renews Sh40m coffee farmers’ deal

Food and beverage manufacturer Nestlé Kenya has renewed a Sh40 million contract with Kenyan farmers for the next three years. Nestle initiative aims at boosting coffee production in the country. Farmers under the project have more than doubled their yields thanks to disease-resistant coffee varieties.

Trade facilitation will support African industrialisation

Geneva – Roberto Azevêdo, Director-General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), argues that the Trade Facilitation Agreement delivered by the Bali package in December last year will support regional integration in Africa, complement the African Union’s efforts to create a continental free trade area and will begin to remove some of the barriers which prevent full integration into global value chains.
