Amadou Ba (CEO of AMI), IPS Africa and @verdade awarded by Expo 2015 and Afronline

Milan – During the International Participants Meeting Milan Expo 2015 final session, Amadou Mathar Alioune Ba, CEO of the African Media Initiative (AMI), has been awarded with the African Media Prize Expo 2015 – Afronline.org, released by Mr. Roberto Formigoni, Expo 2015’s General Commissioner and by Giuseppe Sala, CEO of Expo 2015 S.P.A. Giving the award, EXPO 2015 and Afronline acknowledged Amadou Ba outstanding contribution to African Media and his skills on promoting innovation among African media.

G8: Africa is sceptical

“After decades of foreign imposed or adopted economic systems, Africa needs to take ownership and leadership. This can only be done by adopting economic systems that are practicable and in touch with the realities of the continents grass roots socio-economic architecture” Binneh s Minteh, Harare Tribune analyst, says.

On Wednesday 8 July world leaders will gather in the earthquake-devastated town of L’Aquila in Italy for the G8 summit.

The development of Africa is a key part of the G8 summit agenda, following pledges by world leaders at Glenagles in Scotland in 2005 to increase aid, which were reaffirmed at the G20 London summit in April.
