1000 delegates from 85 countries at the IPM Milan Expo 2015

Over 1000 delegates from 85 countries of the world are in Milan for the second International Participants Meeting Expo2015. Among them, 45 African journalists, bloggers and experts invited by Vita and Afronline, who will be the protagonists of three workshops on the theme of sustainable development as a challenge for Africa, next Friday, 12 October.

Expo 2015 CEO: Afronline.org is the ideal platform to give Africa a voice

It’s supposed to offer one of the most interesting matters for discussion on the path toward the Milan Expo 2015. Promoted by Vita, in collaboration with Expo 2015, Afronline.org, which refers to the homonymous news website, aims at gathering some of the most  prominent African journalists to discuss upon the most pressing 2015 Universal Exhibition themes. “Our goal is to listen to the voice of Africa and to its best practices”, says Giuseppe Sala, CEO of Expo 2015.

Africa: Food security and financial speculation

As food prices rise and become more and more volatile it becomes less and less likely that we will achieve the goal of halving the number of people in the world who go hungry by 2015. Afronline.org, in collaboration with Unicredit Foundation, Fondazione Cariplo and AgiAfro, organises an international conference in Milan (Italy) on Food security in Africa and financial speculation. The event takes place on November 30, 2011.

The city of Milan says “no” to food speculation

The city of Milan will not speculate on food. On the eve of the run off of the local elections in the city that will hold the 2015 Expo, both candidates for mayor, Giuliano Pisapia and Letizia Moratti, have subscribed their names to the campaign “Stop gambling on hunger” and to the ethical code that prevents the city administration from investing in speculative food stocks.
