As food prices rise and become more and more volatile it becomes less and less likely that we will achieve the goal of halving the number of people in the world who go hungry by 2015. Afronline.org, in collaboration with Unicredit Foundation, Fondazione Cariplo and AgiAfro, organises an international conference in Milan (Italy) on Food security in Africa and financial speculation. The event takes place on November 30, 2011.

Rosebelle Kagumire is an experienced Ugandan Journalist. She won the best Journalist blogger English category at the Panos hosted competition in 2009. Currently she is a student of MA. Media, Conflict and Peace studies at University for Peace (UPEACE), Costa Rica.
